Branson Gong Show

Posted by on January 15, 2013

BransonGongShowGongIt’s time for the 4th Annual Branson Gong Show. Make plans to come enjoy Branson’s funniest fundraiser or tune up your talent and audition to be in the show.

Auditions for this year’s Gong Show will be held Monday, January 21, from 5-8 pm at the Branson Senior Center. The Gong Show isn’t meant to be serious and auditions are open to anyone from singers, dancers, musicians, or magicians to stupid human tricks or other talents. Chris Bohinc, Branson Senior Center Board member, says wacky, fun, or funky acts are all good because they are looking for acts that will bring something different to the audience for a good cause. Proceeds from the Gong Show benefit the Branson Senior Center home bound meals program.

The show will be February 27 at the Hamner Barber Theatre. Jason Gordon, Gong Show 2012 winner, will perform during the 2013 finale. Organizers hope to have close to 30 acts with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the home bound meals program.

HotWinterFunlogoComedian and ventriloquist Jim Barber will act as master of ceremonies. Bogie Bohinc and Vonetta Dougan are the producers. The panel of celebrity judges includes Branson entertainers┬áDalena Ditto, Joseph Hall, Bydon Brett and Terry Sanders. Last year’s show was nearly a sellout and advance reservations are recommended. Tickets are $15 for adults, $5 for kids. For tickets or information about the show or auditions, call 417-335-4801.
